STST Makes | Trans Chorus
19 Apr 26
Trans Chorus is a space for trans+ people to revel in our sounds and movements. We lean into how our bodies may sit outside of normative expectations, using communal singing, gentle movement, rhythm and improvisation as the primary tools of exploration.
Every 3rd Sunday of the month, Trans Chorus hosts a workshop at Staffordshire St for trans+ folks at the intersections of disability, chronic illness and neurodivergence, partnering with arts access initiative We Are SENSORIA. Workshops focus on experimenting with the voice and movement to find embodied paths to creativity, routes which are generative for our bodies and support states of regulation.
Please note that this session will be filmed by Remi Yenn as part of their upcoming documentary exploring how trans+ folks use embodied practices to connect to themselves. Participants can opt out of being included in any public sharing of the documentary if they wish to. If you have any questions, please contact yennremi@gmail.com
