ABOUT

Staffordshire St is an independent project space in Peckham, South East London. The venue facilitates arts and cultural events and provides affordable studios for artists, makers and designers.
Staffordshire St is a Community Interest Company. We aim to develop the programme with an artist-led approach, that combines a curated programme alongside selected exhibitions from our open call, building a platform where innovative ideas can be discussed and emerging voices are heard. We want to reflect the local audience and build local, national and international communities. Staffordshire St is not-for-profit and all income is invested into developing our public programme which launched the summer of 2022. We intend to support a range of cultural events for the local community.
The venue was established as an art gallery in 2017, before then it was vacant for many years after a community centre closed. Originally it was built as a Methodist Hall. Staffordshire St will build on the established record of these histories, opening up again to the neighbourhood and developing a welcoming interdisciplinary arts space.

Open Call

Each year we run an annual open call. We intend to make the project space accessible, exhibiting a wide variety of projects. We will be looking for submissions that put forward strong discursive concepts and demonstrate quality as well as capability to execute the proposal. We particularly welcome proposals from people from underrepresented or non-traditional art backgrounds so we can platform ideas from a range of voices.
Our 2024 Open Call is now closed
